Please, do me a favour and don't ask me what this drawing is supposed to be. I just had a sudden urge to draw and this is what came from it. So take it as it is...a big metal head being held up by little people in the middle of a rocky mountain chain...

I finally finished my new toy and wanted to see how it would work for portraitures. Seeing as it was 9 at night I didn't feel like calling around for a person to practice on, so I figured why not practice on myself! Self portraits are freakin hard to do, I was never sure if I was in focus because it's kind of hard to focus on a subject that isn't in the frame if you get me...
Anyways, I'm pretty happy with the outcome! I think my focussing woes for nothing and I really like the light coming out of the Beauty Dish. My only gripe is that the left side of my face is too dark, I wanted to have some fill light, but there's only so much you can do with one flash and a hand held reflector. Hopefully I'll be getting that elusive sb-900 soon :D
Time to work :(

I think it's time for me, myself and I to have my own personal business card. I'm having a hard time choosing a look so I figured I would ask around and see which appeals more and why.
So please email, facebook, text or whatever me your thoughts!
Thanks :D

My good friend Pablo texted me the other night asking if I could take some "pretty pictures of his ugly face". I jokingly wrote back, "with Photoshop, anything is possible".
Thing was he wasn't joking. He needed some "pro" headshots for his CV for and what not by Friday, which happened to be the the next day and the day I left for the Adirondacks. It was 9 at night and very last minute but I figured it'd be good fun and practice! I quickly set up my flash and backdrop in my basement. I had my skepticism about this shoot actually working out... There was hardly enough room to move around let alone take proper pictures. But I made do with a mixture of my flash gelled orange and over basement lights. I used my trusty umbrella to diffuse Pablo's ugly face a bit..jokes!
I also put him against a solid black background so that I can hide it dirty ponytail...no joking this time! But I told him it was to create a more dramatic look ;)
Pablo if you're reading this...I'm sorry but it's true.
Anyways, We took about 50 really quick photos in different shirts. But having Pablo around will always end with good times and shooting him was no different! Here are some of the outtakes from the photoshoot.

Now time for some of the better photos!

I know that this isn't a photo but I figured I'd share it anyways. This is an illustration I did for a teacher friend of mine. She wanted a drawing that showed how fun it could be to read books. She also liked the idea of having the kids under the covers. I think it came out really well!
