Day 105

I grabbed the last full flower from the garden in front of my house and clipped it to my light stand. I blacked out everything by shooting at a really higher speed (around 1/250 of a second), having a smaller aperture (f8) and using the flash at 1/64th power. I snooted the flash to make sure no light flooded the background, keeping it completely back. I took two shots to light the top and bottom of the flower separately and then merged them together in Photoshop.

Day 104

Kurt Vile played at Il Motore yesterday. I was surprisingly unimpressed with his set.. I love his music but I don't love the guy...he was too smashed to remember the opening band's name and the guitars drowned out every other instrument and vocals.

The opening band, No Joy, was okay but not worth more than 1 sentence in my blog.

Real Estate turned out to be the real show. They had a great live sound that reminded me of early Vampire Weekend meets Surfer Blood. I prefer their live stuff over the cd.

Also, I'm looking for to Wintersleep at the end of October :)

Mr. Sciatica introduced me to my new friend Mr. Advil... I'm sure glad he did!
It's been over a week and my back is still all outta whack! It hurts to sit, it hurts to stand, it hurts to walk and it hurts to drive... boo
