Bokeh

What is Bokeh??

Basically, bokeh is the quality of out-of-focus or “blurry” parts of the image rendered by a camera lens – it is NOT the blur itself or the amount of blur in the foreground or the background of a subject. The blur that you are so used to seeing in photography that separates a subject from the background is the result of shallow depth of field and is generally simply called “background blur”. The quality and feel of the background/foreground blur and reflected points of light, however, is what photographers call Bokeh.

Ollie's Five Minute Photoshoot

Gill and James' son really enjoyed the test fire button on my flash a little too much. It got to the point where as soon as the flash was out of my camera bag he'd know and would make a beeline towards me. So I figured why not put his fascination with my flash to use!

These were are quick shots with no set up at all. Laura was my light stand and I would just have her move around until I got the light that I wanted.

Newfoundland Part - 1

You can't help but smirk at the size of Deer Lake airport and it's amenities. The lack of security and overwhelming amount of trust in each other are very much apparent when I walked into the airport. Everything is much more laxed and carefree out here. People hold doors open for you and say "Howyadoinboay!" every chance they get and cars stop if it even looks as if you're pondering on crossing the road.

We were lucky enough to be rooming in this massive country house on the 10th green at the Humber Valley Golf resort. The view, the hot tub, the wrap around deck made us all feel pretty baller for a bit :)

On Friday, we took a trip down to Gros Morne National Park. If you like the outdoors, this is the place to go. It is simply amazing! We took the boat tour through Western Pond Brook and it's "Fjords" which aren't really fjords anymore because to be a fjord it needs to be salt water and yadda yadda... whatever the cliffs/bluffs/fjords are sweet!!

This place is definitely in the runnings for next year's summer vacation. Anyone wanna come along?

Hope you enjoyed my blog :D
