Day 16

1/60 F3.5 ISO 800 @ 18mm

We all know that I'm awkwardly tall and that Laura is so lovingly short, here's the shot to prove it ;)

Day 15

1/160 F22 ISO 100 @ 50mm

I quickly took this in the morning before jumping into my car and heading to work. I knew what I wanted to capture but I didn't have the time to play around with the settings, shooting in RAW format was the only savour for this shot. I had to work a little magic to get the colours and brightness to pop the way I wanted them too. Just to give you an idea the split picture is half of the processed and unprocessed image. Oh and the grain or sparkle in the red is from the awsomely red paint on my car ;)

1/4000 F2.2 ISO 100 @ 50mm

I left my 50mm pretty much wide open and out of focus to turn the reflections off the droplets into a crazy amount of bokeh. I love bokeh :)

Day 14

8.9 sec F14 ISO 200 @ 18mm

My new toy... Time to upgrade completely to Apple, I'm sorry PC you just do it for me anymore. I set the White Balance to Sunny to give the tower's metal shell a nice blue hue.

Day 13

1/160 F1.8 ISO 200 @ 50mm

Taken during the second intermission of Game 2 between the Habs and Caps, where the refs stole the game for Washington...douches... Anyways, I left my lens wide open so that only the little blue dude would be in focus and everything else would be blurred, drawing you eye towards him.

Day 12

15 sec F22 ISO 200 @ 50mm

It was really cold and raining so I only took two shots of these lights reflecting of the water. I set the aperture to the smallest possible and took a 15 second exposure to compensate for the lack of light. I chose a small aperture to get those "Starbursts" effects from the lamps. I'm happy with the result but there's a bit too much light coming from the first lamp...I'll reshoot this when it's warmer.

Day 11

1/2 sec F6.3 ISO 400 @ 18mm

I really wanted to try a in car shot for a while, but the standard sized tripod was just to much work to get set up and strapped in. The tripod problem was solved thanks to Laura :) She got me a GorillaPod for my birthday and I have to say as a secondary tripod it is awsome. It's for sure going to make a couple of my shot a lot easier for me. I strapped the legs of the GorillaPod around the passenger seat's headrest and needless to say, anyone driving to the right of me winced thought the dark and rain to try and figure out what the alien looking contraption was doing holding a camera. I stopped off at a Timmy Ho's drive-thru and the dude who was serving me freaked out when he first saw the tripod gripping the headrest in such a manner that it is best described as those little hand aliens from the movie Alien...

Anyhoo, I set up the camera, drove around while snapping half second shots with my infra-red remote, I love my camera :)

Hope you enjoyed my blog :D
